GREATNESS HAS NO AGE
Sea Cadets are young men and women aged 10 to 18. We are supported by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, and our Cadets train on naval bases and other military installations.
CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE
Our diverse program includes seamanship, sailing, aviation, security, building robots, medical, STEM, SCUBA, submarines, photography, culinary, special forces training, and an International Exchange Program.
INFO FOR PARENTS
Becoming a parent or guardian in the Sea Cadets is an exciting opportunity. Unlike many other extracurriculars, Sea Cadets allows your son or daughter to chart their own path to success, step outside of the comfort zone, and seek challenges.
Building Leaders
of Character
How will your Sea Cadets change your future?
Our culture stresses self discipline, service to others, accountability, and patriotism. At young ages, our cadets are given leadership opportunities at our unit and by staffing summer training events, planning unit drill sessions, and teaching others.
While our cadets gain an appreciation for the sea services and military life, there is no requirement to join the military. Many former cadets enlist, and dozens attend service academies or ROTC. Cadets who complete our “recruit training” are well prepared for the rigors of boot camp or officer indoctrination.
Who Can Join?
All prospective cadets must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents, and meet our minimum age requirement
(Ages 10 through the completion of high school).
Our unit is just one of approximately 400 units across the United States, and in Guam and Puerto Rico.
